BAYFU supports Prinzhorn Group in implementing a modern 5G campus network in cooperation with o2 Telefonica
BAYFU supported the Prinzhorn Group as a partner from the initial concept through the tendering process to the implementation of the 5G campus network.
The Prinzhorn Group is a European market leader in the packaging, paper and recycling industry with extensive factory premises. The previously used WiFi technology reached its limits with multi-story and very large paper machines with steel structures and thick concrete walls. 5G is the solution for large-scale premises. 5G networks are very stable and offer high data rates and bandwidths as well as short response times. There is also more focus on the security factor.
The industry is in the midst of a digital transformation. The Prinzhorn Group is experiencing a significant boost in efficiency thanks to the precisely fitting 5G campus network in order to optimize production. It is an important step for the digital future in the industrial sector. By using 5G, production processes can be developed more sustainably and efficiently. Especially in the paper and packaging industry, demand is increasing significantly. As a result, the paper industry is growing and requires maximum efficiency and sustainability. Through 5G networks, these processes can be successfully optimized.
The Prinzhorn Group itself has always been accompanied and professionally advised by BAYFU. Together with o2 Telefonica in cooperation with the network operator Drei Österreich, the high-performance 5G campus network was set up in real-time transmission at the Pitten site in Austria. With the aim of accelerating information, logistics and production processes.
"Since the summer of 2020, we have been supporting the Prinzhorn Group in technology selection and procurement, and subsequently in implementation and integration. We were able to provide the full range of our service portfolio in this regard. We are looking forward to the upcoming tasks and are sure that this project will contribute to the further acceptance of 5G Campus in Europe," says Stefan Wimmer, Managing Director of Bayerisches Funknetz GmbH (BAYFU).
Prinzhorn Group also plans to deploy additional 5G campus networks at other locations in the near future. The planning and implementation will take place in renewed cooperation with o2 Telefonica and BAYFU. Together we are creating the digitalization push in the industrial.
